The trade fair organizers describe The Tire Cologne 2022 as ready for a restart – the industry event is supposed to provide the urgently needed revitalization of business. The Koelnmesse as organizer and the German Tyre Retail and Vulcanisation Trade Association (Bundesverband Reifenhandel und Vulkaniseur-Handwerk - BRV) as conceptual sponsor underlined the importance in the framework of digital press talks.
Michelin confirms participation
Probably, not all the big tyre manufacturers will have a trade fair presence in Cologne. Nonetheless, in the framework of the press conference, one big player confirmed its participation: Michelin will be one of the big attractions. The Koelnmesse expects a total of about 300 companies and brands from more than 30 countries. “Apart from Michelin, Continental, Falken, Hankook, Pirelli and several other tyre manufacturers registered”, confirms Ingo Riedeberger, Director at TTC.
Oliver Frese, Managing Director at Koelnmesse, makes a forecast: “We are well-prepared, and all our safety and hygiene concepts were able to successfully stand their tests in autumn 2021, like e.g., with 4,500 exhibitors and 70,000 visitors at the Anuga. We are looking forward to May and the The Tire Cologne, which we are finally carrying out in Cologne after its premiere in 2018.”
TTC as initiator
According to Stephan Helm, Chairman at BRV, the trade fair plays a crucial role as initiator: “We fully rely on the The Tire Cologne to be able to provide a shake-up of the ‘digital exhaustion’ of the industry and that the reactivated personal exchange of trade fair participants via the industry platform TTC will work as a new, positive impulse in a still challenging market environment.”
Moreover, Anish K. Taneja, President and CEO at Michelin Region Europe North, highlights the special importance of the trade fair: “The Tire Cologne is the most important networking trade fair for our B2B sector in the region of northern Europe and beyond. We will appreciate meeting all the important partners and dealers in order to discuss important topics like the future of the tyre and mobility industry together and to exchange ideas and visions. Above all, we are looking forward to having good conversations with our fleet customers and to getting the opportunity to set up new contacts in a physical way – certainly within the framework of hygiene regulations, which we take very seriously.”
The Koelnmesse is going to present the whole range of topics: tyres, wheels, service and workshop, retreading, and the central topic of recycling – for us as a specialized journal of the tyre industry the The Tire Cologne 2022 is a mandatory appointment.
