Bridgestone will launch its "DriveGuard” tyres in a winter version. According to company information, the technology will enable an onward journey for 80 km at a speed of up to 80 km/h in case of a breakdown. The DriveGuard Winter will complement the current range of tyres consisting of the Blizzak LM001, the Blizzak LM-80 EVO and the DM-V2 for SUVs. The Bridgestone DriveGuard Winter - as well as the summer version - is characterized by reinforced sidewalls and so-called Cooling Fins.
They were developed by Bridgestone and reduce the heat, which is produced as a consequence of a pressure drop. The grooves of the DriveGuard Winter being formed like a horn rapidly transport water and slush from the contact area. The Bridgestone DriveGuard Winter will be available in ten sizes in the 45 and 65 series for 15” up to 17” rims.
