According to company information, the Japanese tyre engineers focused on safety and performance when developing the Sumitomo SUV and passenger car tyre BC100. The asymmetric tread design with five tread ribs is to provide directional stability, shorter braking distances, and steering precision on dry roads. The high-volume longitudinal grooves, which are combined with bended central tread grooves, increase resistance to aquaplaning and are to increase wet safety and control. (akl)
Three new tyres of Falken’s secondary brand Sumitomo Tyres
Since the end of 2017, Falken has been selling the secondary brand Sumitomo Tyres. The current product portfolio consists of the passenger car and SUV summer tyre BC100 and the SL727, a summer tyre especially developed for vans and light trucks. The WT200 is available for use in wintry conditions, which was as well designed for the passenger car and SUV segment. The three models were presented at The Tire Cologne for the first time.
