Bridgestone is equipping the new Renault Mégane R.S. with the tyre Potenza S001. “The Mégane R.S. is a new type of vehicle. It disposes of a more powerful engine, and the wheel suspension and four-wheel steering system were newly developed and brought to serial production. Thus, Bridgestone designed the Potenza S001 in such a way that it will not only perfectly meet the new requirements of the car, but also supplement the advantages of our innovations in an optimum way”, explains Laurent Hurgon, development driver of the new Renault Mégane R.S.

Camso is expanding its offer for forklift trucks in the United Kingdom by taking over Forklift Tire Specialists Hull Ltd.

Solideal On-Site Service, the service department of Camso, will expand its presence in the United Kingdom by taking over Tire Specialists Hull Ltd. (FTS). The company based in Hull (Yorkshire) offers more than 40 years of experience in the area of industrial tyres, and is considered to be among the most well-known tyre suppliers in the north of the United Kingdom.


Magna Tyres: New cooperations with Firststop and Ayme Group

According to information from the Magna Tyres Group, the demand for products has increased in the whole area during the five-year presence in the French market. Magna Tyres decided to increase the customer network in order to guarantee proximity and availability of products from Magna Tyres.

This autumn, the Working Group Rim Manufacturers of the German Tyre Retailer and Vulcanization Trade Association (Bundesverbandes Reifenhandel und Vulkaniseur-Handwerk e.V. - BRV) again met for their autumn meeting, which was used by the Cologne based consultancy BBE Automotive GmbH in order to present the current results of the Rim/Wheel-Sell-In Panel. Twice a year, the members of the working group announce the sell-in volumes for the past six months (exclusively passenger car replacement market; without sales to vehicle manufacturers and importers), assess independently from each other the remaining demand and forecast the future development.  


Nokian Tyres‘ President Ari Lehtoranta resigning

Ari Lehtoranta is resigning as President of Nokian Tyres.

Ari Lehtoranta is resigning as President of Nokian Tyres. Only since 2014 Lehtoranta has been running the Finnish tyre manufacturer. At the end of the year 2016, he is withdrawing from all his offices.  According to the official statement, he will pursue new tasks outside the company.


Continental acquires Hoosier Racing Tire Corporation

Continental is taking over Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. The company based in Lakeville/Indiana in the USA produces special tyres for racing application. “This take-over is an impressive example of the consistent implementation of our long-term growth strategy Vision 2025 with focus on strategic planning and consistent implementation of technological innovations. The take-over of Hoosier Racing Tire is a promising addition to our product portfolio and will support our growth strategy, above all in the ultra high performance segment“, said Nikolai Setzer, member of the Board of Directors at Continental AG and Head of the Tyre Division.


General Tire launches two new off-roaders

The General Tire Grabber AT3 stops at nothing, neither mud, nor stones or puddles.

In the framework of an international product event, General Tire presented two new all-terrain tyres for on- and off-road use in Valencia/Spain: the Grabber X3 and the Grabber AT3. The Grabber AT3 will be available in trade in IV/2016 and I/2017 and the Grabber X3 in I/2017 and II/2017. The Grabber X3 is planned in 19 sizes for rims from 15 to 19 inches, the Grabber AT3 in 64 sizes for rims from 15 to 20 inches.
