The second edition of Xtractor Around The World, which started in Cape Town on 3rd April, was successfully finished on 20th May. BKT was one of the sponsors. During the 50-day expedition, the BKT tyres AGRIMAX FORCE and AGRIMAX RT 657 were used for the McCormick agricultural tractors series X7 P6-Drive and X8 VT-Drive.
The expedition was subdivided into 50 trips, which showed different landscapes and thus caused challenges depending on the respective climates and various types of soil conditions. “This expedition through South Africa was definitely a great opportunity for our tyres to prove their persistence, resilience and resistance when mastering 50 different parts of the route”, says Lucia Salmaso, Managing Director at BKT Europe. “The two tyre models were perfectly able to demonstrate their outstanding performance characteristics during both on- and off-the-road activities, as they succeeded in adapting to extremely hard rules and conditions of this adventure. My thanks go to the competence of the people in our research and development centre, who constantly look for innovative solutions to meet any type of requirements in any type of conditions.”
This edition of Xtractor also consisted of two charity events: A visit of the team to Ephraim Mogale, a mother-child hospital managed by AMREF, and to Sedibeng West High School, where AMREF started a healthy-lifestyle project, an initiative showing children how to benefit from sports activities. The visit was marked by setting-up a football pitch (100x50 metres). The official inauguration took place in the presence of Iya Traoré, the ‘King of freestyle football’, who has worked worldwide as BKT’s special guest in the framework of the most important company events.
