The people responsible for the tyre dealer search engine Reifen-vor-Ort compared the top sellers of the current summer tyre season with the results of tyre tests. They aimed at checking the importance of test results for the purchasing decision.
The following can be concluded: An analysis of the end-consumer platform shows that there is an influence of tyre tests, which at least in the case of the ADAC tyre test is mostly not relevant for the purchasing decision. The tyre dealer search engine Reifen-vor-Ort compared the top sellers of the current summer tyre season (1st March to 9th May 2018) with the top sellers in the same period of the year 2017. They added the results of the current ADAC summer tyre test for the tyre size 175/65 R14T. Above all, the secondary brands were not able to transfer the good test results to selling numbers. This conclusion was confirmed by the tendency in a non-representative survey on our website gummibereifung.de. There only 24 per cent of the respondents were of the opinion that tyre tests were relevant for purchasing decisions. (Status as of 15th June 2018)
