Pirelli will support the team Luna Rossa Challenge

Pirelli and the team Luna Rossa Challenge have come to an agreement concerning setting up a partnership, which will focus on projects lasting several years: the participation of Luna Rossa in the next edition of the America's Cup in New Zealand in the year 2021.

Pirelli and Prada are going to work as co-sponsors of the boat. The America's Cup - taking place in its 36th edition - is considered to be the oldest still organized sailing regatta, where only the technologically most advanced international boats take part. In the framework of this project several regattas, events and activities with both brands as protagonist are to happen in the period from 2018 to 2021. That means the first two regattas of the America's Cup World Series in the Mediterranean Sea in the year 2019. Three further World Series regattas in Europe, the USA, and Asia in the year 2020. The Prada Cup with the Challenger selection regattas in Auckland/NZ as of January 2021, followed by the 36th edition of the America's Cup presented by Prada, which is scheduled for March 2021. “Pirelli will be the ideal partner for this new challenge in the America's Cup. Due to more than half a century of experience at the highest level of international high-technology sports, the company will be an invaluable asset item in our project. Thus, you can definitely speak of a real cooperation between the team and Pirelli”, comments Patrizio Bertelli, Chairman of Luna Rossa Challenge. “Pirelli has decided in favour of this project, because it will stand for a sportive and technological challenge, which will help Italy and the brand Pirelli to raise international awareness”, adds Marco Tronchetti Provera, Executive Vice President and CEO at Pirelli. BRV: Situation of alloy wheel suppliers remains “satisfactory”

This autumn, the Working Group Rim Manufacturers of the German Tyre Retailer and Vulcanization Trade Association (Bundesverbandes Reifenhandel und Vulkaniseur-Handwerk e.V. - BRV) again met for their autumn meeting, which was used by the Cologne based consultancy BBE Automotive GmbH in order to present the current results of the Rim/Wheel-Sell-In Panel. Twice a year, the members of the working group announce the sell-in volumes for the past six months (exclusively passenger car replacement market; without sales to vehicle manufacturers and importers), assess independently from each other the remaining demand and forecast the future development.

Xtractor Around The World successfully finished

The second edition of Xtractor Around The World, which started in Cape Town on 3rd April, was successfully finished on 20th May. BKT was one of the sponsors. During the 50-day expedition, the BKT tyres AGRIMAX FORCE and AGRIMAX RT 657 were used for the McCormick agricultural tractors series X7 P6-Drive and X8 VT-Drive.

Gundlach as independent group in the future

The Dutch Pon Holding has announced that Reifen Gundlach and its affiliated companies will change its proprietor at the end of the year, and, in the future, it will act as an independent group in the market. The business area Pon Tyre Group had already been restructured and strategically reoriented since last year. As a consequence, the Gundlach Automotive Corporation (GAC) was created, which consists of a total of seven companies from six countries, among others Reifen Gundlach, Euro-Tyre NL, PTG Automotive Solutions & Services, RG Automotive Solutions, and Goodwheel.
