Dunlop: SUV variation of Sport Maxx RT 2

Dunlop is presenting a SUV version of the Sport Maxx RT 2. Engineers tried to realise a balanced pressure distribution for the whole tyre contact area and aimed at optimizing cornering and steering performance at higher speed. A tread compound of the latest generation newly developed for the Sport Maxx RT 2 SUV also consists of traction resin.

The strengthened tread pattern with highly angled, V-shaped cross grooves is to increase stability. In the first six months of 2018, 11 dimensions will be available, and further 12 dimensions will be added until February 2019.

Bridgestone: Tailor-made tyres for Renault Mégane R.S.

Bridgestone is equipping the new Renault Mégane R.S. with the tyre Potenza S001. “The Mégane R.S. is a new type of vehicle. It disposes of a more powerful engine, and the wheel suspension and four-wheel steering system were newly developed and brought to serial production. Thus, Bridgestone designed the Potenza S001 in such a way that it will not only perfectly meet the new requirements of the car, but also supplement the advantages of our innovations in an optimum way”, explains Laurent Hurgon, development driver of the new Renault Mégane R.S.

Three new tyres of Falken’s secondary brand Sumitomo Tyres

Since the end of 2017, Falken has been selling the secondary brand Sumitomo Tyres. The current product portfolio consists of the passenger car and SUV summer tyre BC100 and the SL727, a summer tyre especially developed for vans and light trucks. The WT200 is available for use in wintry conditions, which was as well designed for the passenger car and SUV segment. The three models were presented at The Tire Cologne for the first time.

Yokohama and Kumho has finished cooperation ahead of schedule

Yokohama has finished the technology relations with Kumho Tire. Since February 2014, there has been an agreement on the Master Technological Alliance. The cooperation F&E-Agreement as well as the agreement on an exchange of licences and technology aimed at working together on tyre-related future technologies including eco-friendly tyre technologies and new concept tyres. Due to recent changes of majority shareholders of Kumho Tire, the agreement was cancelled based on these conditions.
