Bridgestone is expanding its motorbike range of products around the new Battlax Sport Touring T31. According to company information, the new tyre shows improved wet performance and a maximum contact experience with the road.
Bridgestone makes use of NanoPro-Tech technology for front tyres, which contains a higher level of silica at the molecular level in the rubber compound. Thus, the flexibility of the rubber is to be improved and traction is to be increased on different surfaces as well as on wet roads or when having low temperatures. A 3LC rubber compound with a cap- and base structure is used for the back tyres. The softer exterior rubber compound ensures grip, whereas the interior compound is more stable and provides the tyre with stiffness.
The tread design of the T31 consists of a higher number of tread grooves in the shoulder area, which facilitate draining of the water. There are hardly any grooves in the medium area of the back tyre, which guarantees stability, above all at higher speed. According to the manufacturer, the contact area is up to seven per cent higher, which offers additional safety when cornering. “The new Battlax T31 is a perfect partner for motorbike drivers looking for a sportive driving experience combined with the feeling of self-confidence and control. The T31 and its outstanding grip provides exactly this, even in wet conditions”, said Nico Thuy, Head of Europe Motorcycle at Bridgestone Europe.
The Battlax Sport Touring T31 is available in eight sizes as standard version for the front wheel and in nine sizes for the back wheel. Moreover, there are two more sizes for the front and three sizes for the back wheel in the strengthened GT version.
