Last week, the new Racing Series Elite was presented – Avon Tyres will work as official tyre supplier. The new Jaguar F-TYPE SVR with GT4 specification was selected as official racing vehicle. There will be 20 competitors for the whole first season in 2019. The vehicles will be stored and prepared by the central operations team before and after the race.
The age restriction of this series will definitely be unique: An Elite pilot needs a minimum age of 50. Series Elite will host its inaugural race weekend on the race circuit in Brands Hatch on 27th and 28th October, where the whole procedure will be based on the rules of the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC). After this trial run, the first complete season of the Series Elite 2019 will take place on race circuits in Silverstone, Donington, Brands Hatch and Rockingham in the UK and as an international final at the end of the year. “Avon Tyres is pleased to have been selected as tyre supplier of the new racing series“, says Paul Coates, General Manager at Avon Tyres Motorsport. “This championship with the prestigious F-Type Jaguar, will be a perfect showcase for Avon’s technology and experience in designing and manufacturing motorsport tyres. The new Jaguar F-Type GT4 was redesigned and built specifically to Series Elite specifications. Based on the F-TYPE with a speed of more than 300 km/h, supercharged V8 engine with rear wheel drive, the Elite racing version was developed in-house at Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations facility in Coventry, UK.
